LON vs KIT Game Three - Super League Finals Report

The location of the Super League Finals did not move very far, but the events of Game Three moved the trajectory of the 2024 Finals in a very new and different way.

The KW Titans had got their first Finals appearance off to the best start with an eight point win over the London Lightning in Game One. This was followed by a very similar Game Two, but which ended with London levelling the series. The third game at the Gardens in London followed a very different path from the first two.

After KW opened with ten points unanswered in the first five minutes, London responded with 9-0 run

then fifteen more points without reply to lead by at the end of the first quarter. Nick Garth reached ten points at the end of the opening period, with Jeremiah Mordi contributing nine.

The Titans matched London more on offence when play resumed, but Mordi and Jermaine Haley took over the scoring, bringing London's lead to twenty points just before half time.

After a long drought for the Titans they went on a 16-1 run through Q2 into the second half, where a three from Braylon Rayson and an and-one by Curtis Hollis then made it a two-point game. Chris Jones led another 9-0 run for the Lightning, restoring their double-digit lead; Mordi then hit seven in a row for London, who now had the biggest lead of the game at 25 points.

The Titans began the fourth quarter with a big deficit to overcome. Hollis put up 15 points to try and save the game, but there was no let up from London, who saw Chris Jones finish with 11 points to finish on 29 - along with 8 rebounds, six assists and steals - his fourth game in a row with more than twenty points.

Mordi finished with 25 points and 11 boards, Hollis led the Titans with 23, with six more players finishing in double digits. The biggest jubilations at the end of Game Three were London's, the conclusion of their 105-83 blowout of the Titans puts them within reaching distance of the trophy.

Will Sunday's match-up bring the curtain down on the 2024 Super League season or can the KW Titans force a decider? Check back here for a full update as it happens, and read more over on the league's official website.
