The new NBL Canada season will see a host of new players who will be hitting the Canadian boards for the first time. The Windsor Express have welcomed many fresh faces to their training camp, including St. Clair graduate Shawon Anderson, who finally gets to live his dream of playing for the team he has supported since his youth. Here are some more of the NBLC newcomers we will see in Windsor in 2022:

Lance Tejada

6'3 Guard from Pompano Beach, Florida

A highly rated and decorated graduate of Blanche Ely in Florida, he was recruited to the East Carolina Pirates, where he was one of the leaders in assists. In 2017 he transferred to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks, averaging 14.7 points as a junior, leading the team and ninth in the American conference.

He ended his Lehigh tenure with two Patriot League team selections and a 14.6 scoring average. His career night came on January 9th of his senior year, were he put up 36 points to help the Hawks overcome a double-digit deficit to beat the Holy Cross Crusaders in overtime. From there he played professionally in Puerto Rico, making 35 appearances in three seasons for San German, averaging 14.0 points per game in his second season. Staying in Puerto Rico, he suited up seventeen times for Santruce in 2020.

Jachai Taylor

6'7 Guard from Waukegan, Illinois

A two-time team MVP, among many more honours, in Waukegan Taylor went on to being a rotation player for the Murray State Racers before finding more playing time with North Carolina side the Queens Royals in 2018. A highly dependable shooter in his first season, as a senior he made twenty starts and scored career highs for scoring and rebounding in a single year. On January 10th 2022, he scored four points, grabbed three rebounds and dished two assists for the Delaware Blue Coats in an NBA G League match-up with the Windy City Bulls.

Tanner Stuckman

6'9 Forward from Quincy, Illinois

In 2017 Stuckman joined with the Quincy Hawks in NCAA Division 2, making seventeen starts in his first season. After averaging 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in his first two seasons, he started every game as a junior, leading the Hawks in minutes, points and boards. He finished his Hawks tenure in their top twenty all-time scorers and Great Lakes Valley Conference honours his last two seasons. From there, he first played professionally in Finland, averaging 22.0 points and 11.6 rebounds in nine games for Karkkila.

Having seen some high standards of basketball in their time, the Express newcomers will arrive with a lot of promise in Windsor and with plenty they can provide for the team. Check back here regularly to see how their new recruits fare in their first basketball season in Canada.
