Tyran Walker: NBLC 2022 Greatest Hits

In his second NBL Canada season Ty Walker found a new home with the KW Titans where his backcourt prowess could flourish. One of the tallest players seen on NBLC courts in 2022, he made his height advantage count over all other teams, playing lockdown defence every night in a career year where he led the league in blocks and scooped up the Defensive Player of the Year award.

March 20th @ Kokomo Bobkats

He bettered his single-game rebound record with twelve boards against the Lansing Pharoahs, then achieved an other-worldly ten blocks on March 20th at home to the Kokomo Bobkats. He made his first double-double for KW six days later, with ten points and eleven rebounds, along with seven blocks, against the Sudbury Five.

April 5th vs Windsor Express

At this point in the 2022 season Walker had established himself as one of the season's top defensive players, best shown where he reached this personal milestone against the Express, scoring 11 points while also grabbing twelve total rebounds for his first NBLC double-double.

May 20th vs Sudbury Five

Three times Walker broke his own rebounding record, the last time came at a really crucial time for the Titans. In the middle of a playoff battle with the Sudbury Five, he grabbed three rebounds on offence and twelve on the other end for a total fifteen boards. Taking care of the team's defensive end helped to swing the series back to KW's favour and in the end helped them on the way to their first NBLC finals.

It has indeed been a great season for the breakout centre and having now made a name for himself as a top defensive player for the Titans, hopefully there will be much more to see from Ty Walker in the NBL Canada in the coming years.
