NBLC 2022: Jeremy Harris Greatest Hits
The field for NBL Canada newcomer of the year award has been a hotly contested field, with so many league debutants making a big impact for their teams. In the end one player stood out, having hit the ground running in Canada and established himself among the league's best. That was Jeremy Harris, who almost instantly became one of the most dynamic and exciting additions to the NBLC and a guiding light for the Sudbury Five.
Here is Harris' best moments from the 2022 season, clear evidence of why he is thoroughly deserving of his first NBLC accolade:
February 21st vs Windsor Express
There's no better way to begin an NBL Canada career than lighting up the stat sheet. On Sudbury's very first game of the 2022 season, Harris scored 24 points and led everyone on the floor with 12 total rebounds in a head-turning and winning debut, signaling all the more there was to come in the season.
March 20th vs Windsor Express
A month into his tenure and Harris had become ingrained into Sudbury's game plan and hosting the Express he played a big part in one of the highlight games of the entire season. Leading the Five with 32 points, 24 of which coming in the second half alone, Harris's performance was key in Sudbury coming back from 21 points down to once again prevailing over the Windsor Express.
May 20th @ KW Titans
The brightest spark for Sudbury in what was an unsuccessful playoff campaign was Harris putting up his NBLC career high as the Five attempted to turn the tide against the KW Titans. In game three he scored in double digits in two quarters to finish with 40 points in addition to 13 total rebounds. It may not have been enough to save the game, or the series, for Sudbury, but it was one of the
individual showings of the entire NBLC post season.
Jeremy Harris at his peak is one of the most unstoppable, versatile and entertaining players you will see on any NBL Canada court. Hopefully if his services can be retained in Sudbury or anywhere in Canada this will be the first of many NBLC trophies that will end up in his cabinet.
