The London Lightning found more firepower in versatile sharp-shooting specialist Cameron Forte, who very quickly established himself with the team and made himself a key component of their renowned and feared offence.

Prior to turning pro, Forte had 36.2 points and 12.7 rebounds per game to end his highly-decorated tenure with McClintock High School in Tempe. From there he went on to the Howard College Hawks in Big Springs, Texas, where after a season he achieved the fourth-best scoring average of 22.5 and was recruited to the Georgia State Bulldogs in the NCAA.

In two seasons Forte made 64 appearances for Georgia State, including the first round of the 2015 Division 1 tournament (The team lost 70-63 to Michigan State). He then played his senior year with the Portland State Vikings, starting in 19 out of 31 games and averaging 19.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest.

What followed would be a busy rookie year, split between Pristinha in Kosovo, Atomeromu in Hungary and Mexican team Pioneros de Los Mochis, for whom he posted 25.1 points and 12.4 rebounds in 25 games. In the 2018, after playing six games with Keflavik in Iceland, he moved to Chile to play for Los Leones de Quilpue, with whom he reached the LNB championship finals, but lost four games to one against Valdivia.

In February 2020 he became a late signing for the London Lightning and on his debut on February 26 against Windsor he posted 25 points. He scored in double digits in his next three games, including 41 points against Sudbury, in what must be one of the most extraordinary NBL Canada debuts ever seen. Forte next played for Filipino team Batang Pier before returning to Canada, re-signing with London for 2022.

He opened the season with back-to-back twenty point double-doubles, followed by 32 points against the KW Titans. On March 13th he outdid his NBLC scoring record with 44 points to go with 18 total boards in a nineteen-point win over the Windsor Express. It was part of a week of high-efficiency from Forte which earned him his first Player of the Week honour.

Forte wasted no time in making a name for himself in Canada, putting up regular high numbers which have quickly taken him from import to starter and made him one of the most exciting players in the NBLC.
