NBLC9 All-Canadian First Team Greatest Hits


Some of the best performers in the 2019-20 NBL Canada season were home-grown players, and their efforts were not just contributions to their team and the league, but Canadian basketball altogether.

The NBLC have made their selections for this season's All-Canadian first team, which are all below, along with a sample of their work this year.

Alex Campbell

Guard, Island Storm

21 GP, 20.0 PPG, 6.8 RPG

On only one occasion did the Canadian Player of the Year not finish a game in double digits. On January 2nd he did everything for the Storm against the Halifax Hurricanes, scoring 27 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and also dishing five assists, playing an exceptional in the Storm's 111-99 victory.

Jason Calliste

Guard, Moncton Magic

19GP, 11.9PPG, 3.5RPG

One of the best three-point shooters seen in the NBLC this season, Calliste showed he was one to watch right from the off. In the season opener against the Storm, he scored 21 points in 32 minutes off the bench, making seven of eight three point attempts and three quarters of all field goals, a huge contribution to the Magic in their 120-112 opening win.

Junior Cadougan

Guard, St. John's Edge

20GP, 14.8 PPG, 4.0 RPG

The Torontonian who finished in the top ten for assists in all the league was on fire against the Island Storm on New Year's Eve, as St. John's tried to keep themselves afloat and fight off the fiery home team. In the end the win would escape them, but Cadougan finished with a team and joint season high 25 points in the contest.

Kemy Osse

Guard, Windsor Express

20 GP, 12.9 PPG, 5.8 RPG

As well as a dependable scorer, Osse was one of the best rebounders for Windsor in the season. He played some of his best offence and defence on February 17th against the Sudbury Five: scoring 19 points, 12 coming from beyond the arc and 60% field accuracy, he also finished with a team-high 11 rebounds

Tyrone Watson

Centre, St. John's Edge

20 GP, 11.6 PPG, 5.6 RPG

Watson was key player in the Edge turning their season around after a slow start. This was best exemplified on February 19th, where he scored 10 points in the first quarter on his way to 21 in the game as well as capturing 17 rebounds for St. John's. These were highs for his team in the contest and himself for the whole season, made all the better by the Edge getting the win 122-120 in double-overtime.
