NBLC Recap: February 11th


Big scores were infectious on Wednesday night's two-game NBL Canada line-up, with plenty of high scores on show from the league's hottest players of the moment.

Sudbury Five vs London Lightning

Sudbury’s three-point shooters got them off to a good start at the Gardens, but Cameron Forte and Xavier Moon were able to lift London to the lead by the end of the opening period. Their form continued into the second quarter, keeping London in front as JR Holder led the search for the lead. London remained in control and were up by eleven points at half-time.

Holder, who had eighteen points in the third quarter, put Sudbury up by one before Forte and Moon once again struck for the Lightning, putting them back up by double digits. Sudbury had one last push to try and change the outcome, but with no let up from London they coasted home to victory, 122 points to 113.

Holder led Sudbury with 37 points while four of his team mates also finished in double digits in the loss. Forte and Moon were the top scorers for London, with 41 and 29 points respectively, with Moon also grabbing 10 rebounds as the Lightning get back to winning ways

 

Halifax Hurricanes vs Windsor Express

Mamadou Gueye put the Hurricanes up by a point at the end of the first quarter, yet in the second Windsor, sharing the ball on the offensive end, went in front by double digits. Antoine Mason and CJ Washington kept finding open looks to keep up the pressure, but with Halifax trailing by fourteen points going into the fourth quarter, and Quinnel Brown and Kemy Osse still putting up points for Windsor, the result was

Mason led the scoring for Halifax with 31 while Washington had 24 in the loss. Windsor had another spectacular show on offence, with eight players finishing in double digits. Quinnel Brown was the leader with 22 as well as 10 rebounds in the 120-113 win over Halifax.
