Royce White may have all these accolades to his name, but he is a dangerous individual pushing extremist conspiracy theories that threaten democracy. Signs of which we should have all seen throughout his troublesome basketball career; where he was suspended by the NCAA amid a legal investigation, refused to live up to professional contract obligations and left Canada after what was the last of many on-court altercations with league officials.

Since then he has been politically involved and a keyboard warrior, promoting populist views, pushing conspiracy theories about almost anything and shooting his mouth off against women and the LGBTQ community. An unwavering supporter of Donald Trump, he has aligned himself with Steve Bannon, former advisor to Donald Trump incarcerated for contempt of congress, and alt-right conspiracist Alex Jones, whose conspiracy theories White has endorsed as "right".

He told me, ‘Hey grandpa, I’m going to be on Steve Bannon’s podcast.’ I said, ‘Do you know who Steve Bannon is, man?’ There’s no way I can support my grandson supporting the GOP, and in essence, Trump. He attempted to become a politician in 2022, when he challenged the seat of Somali-American representative Ilhan Omar, one of the first Muslim women to serve in Congress. He was heavily defeated but went on to challenge incumbent state governor Amy Kloubachar in 2024.

If you live in Minnesota, vote for anyone but Royce White.

I resent that I've had to chase up all this information to show why he should not be allowed to serve in office when I could have been writing something better.
