Skeens, Brandon The Latest Signings for Sudbury, St. John
The Sudbury Five and the St. John's Edge have made their latest roster additions for the upcoming NBL Canada season.
Sudbury have secured the services of Brady Skeens, a highly decorated player for the Washburn Ichabods in NCAA Division 2 - for whom he served as a starting forward and was a three-time winner of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Defensive Player of the Year award.
Meanwhile, the Edge welcome to their ranks Montay Brandon. Previously serving as a starter for the Florida State Seminoles and MVP of the Jordan Classic Regional tournament in 2012, he went on to play professionally in Luxembourg, Japan and most recently Indonesia.
Cane Broome, who will be making his professional basketball debut in St. John after playing for two NCAA teams - Sacred Heart Pioneers and the Cincinnati Bearcats. Brandon and Broome will be joined on the team by two returning players, Murphy Burnatowksi - 15.8 points per game last season - and Junior Cadougan, winner of the 2019 Most Improved award.
Back in Sudbury, the Five have also re-signed rotation players Joey Puddister and Georges Serresse, who appeared in all 42 games for Sudbury last season.
The new rosters of St. John, Sudbury and the remaining teams can first be seen in the NBLC pre-season, which begins in November ahead of the December 26 season tip-off.
