Robinson's Return Headlines New Island Storm Signings
Robbie Robinson will once again be playing again in Charlottetown after signing a two-year contract with the Island Storm.
The 2018-19 season was Robinson's first as a professional having previously honed his game in the Drew League. He became an immediate fan favourite with the team as well as making a big contribution to them with his efforts last season, averaging 12.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in 33 games. It wasn't enough to win the team a playoff place, but he showed great potential which he can hopefully live up to in his second season with the team.
Robinson's signing comes shortly after the announcement of another signing, that of guard Darnell Landon from Woodbridge, Ontario. Former Mayville State Comet, Landon made his professional debut last season with the Saint John Riptide. He will be joined by Funsho Dimeji, the Sudbury Five's first round pick of the 2018 draft who never suited up for the team.
The Storm will also be welcoming a player to the professional ranks. Marcus Lewis (Not that one) has signed with the team for the upcoming season, having previously been named MVP and Rookie of the Year in his first USports season with the Nipissing Lakers.
After a season to forget last year, the Storm seem to have been hard at work putting together a team full of pluck who can see them back in the playoffs. Only time will tell how their early transactions will play out.
