Old Faces Welcomed Back to Halifax
Like all NBL Canada team, the Halifax Hurricanes are making moves to build up their roster ready for the new season - and they have just completed some very exciting transactions which will see some familiar names coming back to the ScotiaBank Centre.
The first is Ta'Quan Zimmerman, who will be playing his third season for the Hurricanes. He has previously averaged 10.6 points, 2.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds so far in his Halifax career. He began the 2018-19 season for the Cape Breton Highlanders before leaving the team to play in Mongolia.
An NBLC fan favourite and winner of the 2018 Sixth Man of the Year award, Zimmerman will be making a welcome return to Canada in December where all, particularly the Halifax fan base and head offices, will be hoping he can have the same impact for them he had once before.
Joining him will be former UAB Blazers start CJ Washington, who is no stranger to the courts in Halifax, having previously played two seasons for them in the past. Making 68 appearances for Halifax, starting in sixty, he has so far averaged 15.3 points and 7.4 rebounds in his professional career, he will be looking to improve on that after sitting out the 2018-19 season.
Zimmerman and Washington will be joined by a new face to both the Hurricanes organisation and professional basketball: Dyllon Hudson-Emery, who comes to the team after a powerhouse season with NCAA Division 2 team Davenport Panthers. Averaging 18.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, he earned the Player of the Year title of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
