All-NBL Canada First Team 2018-19
So this is it: the five best players in the 2018-19 NBL Canada season as voted for by the league, and only the very best were going to cut it in this arena.
Here are the 2018-19 All-NBLC First Team:
Frank Bartley (Saint John Riptide)
The rookie sensation who led the Riptide’s offence and to the playoffs, Bartley picked up two Player of the Week awards as well as Rookie of the Year honours in an outstanding debut season.
Jaylen Bland (Sudbury Five)
A top-ten league scorer with 19.3 points per game, Bland was a part of Sudbury's powerhouse offence in their inaugural season and himself was the recipient of the Newcomer of the Year award.
Guillaume Boucard (Island Storm)
The Canadian Player of the Year honouree, Boucard continued his impressive form in the NBLC, averaging 19.7 points and 8.5 rebounds after joining the Island Storm mid-way through the season.
Braylon Rayson (Sudbury Five)
The leading scorer and MVP of the 2018-19 season. Nuff said.
Jamal Reynolds (Cape Breton Highlanders)
Reynolds numbers in 2018-19 were staggering: starting in only six games out of 45, he still poured in 17.6 points and 8.9 rebounds – the latter being the equal best in the league. He was the obvious choice for Sixth Man of the Year.
Are these five worthy, or can you think of someone else who deserves to be in the All-NBLC team? Leave a comment if you do.
