The 2018-19 All-Canadian Third Team
Always looking to encourage the development of home-grown players, the NBL Canada are honouring the best Canadians who played in the league in the 2018-19 season.
Like the All-NBLC team, the chosen players are separated on three levels and in groups of five each. The only stipulation is players have to be from Canada. Here is this year's All-Canadian Third team:
Jason Calliste (Moncton Magic)
It was the third NBLC season, and second for the Magic, for the Scarborough, Ontario native, and he finished in the top ten for three-pointers made and first overall in three-point percentage (41.9).
Alex Johnson (London Lightning)
Torontonian Johnson suited up for his seventh NBLC team in 2018-19, but showed no signs of slowing down, averaging 9.4 points, 3.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds for London.
Aaron Redpath (Cape Breton Highlanders)
The Oakville native was among both the best players in the Highlanders’ rotation and the shooters, finishing the season on 9.2 points as well as 3.2 in both rebounds and assists.
Tramar Sutherland (KW Titans)
Sutherland played in every game for the Titans in 2018-19, averaging 10.0 points - Scoring twenty-plus points on five occasions - and 4.2 rebounds in his second straight season with KW.
Gentrey Thomas (Moncton Magic)
In only his first year playing professionally, the guard originally from Halifax served as a dependable role player for the Moncton Magic, playing in 46 games and averaging 8.3 points.
Do you think any of these players deserve to be higher up than on the third team? If so, leave a comment below.
