2018-19 All-Rookie Team Announced

With the rookie class exceptional this past NBL Canada season, making the final decision of the five worthy of All-Rookie honours could not have been an easy task for league officials.

Some candidates were obvious inclusions, but so there was still plenty of talent to choose from after that, and unfortunately only five could make the final cut.The league have made their choices, and here is the 2018-19 NBLC All-Rookie team:

Frank Bartley (Saint John Riptide)

Bartley led the field of new talent that came to the NBLC this season. As well as leading the Riptide in scoring, he was fourth overall in all of the league and played a big part in guiding the somewhat uneven team through the season and to the playoffs.

Malcolm Duvivier (Halifax Hurricanes)

Duvivier did not look back after registering double-digit finishes in his first two games for Halifax, leading to his crowning achievement of posting 29 points off the bench against Cape Breton on March 21st.

Jared Nickens (St. John's Edge)

One of the best three-point shooters in the 2018-19 season (dropping 115 treys in total), Nickens proved a very dependable player on offence for the Edge, whom he played for in every game this season.

Justin Strings (KW Titans)

An unsung hero for the Titans who appeared in 50 games, averaging 10.3 points and 5.4 points and finishing the season in the top ten for blocks, Strings played a big role in the surprise season for his first team.

Gentrey Thomas (Moncton Magic)

Though he was hampered in the second part of the season, Thomas made an impression on an already impressive Moncton roster straight away with 21 points in his debut at Halifax - the first of six twenty-point performances in the season.
