Braylon Rayson is the 2018-19 MVP
It's been an exciting few days for the Sudbury Five - no sooner had one of their own been recognised by the NBL Canada, another received the league's highest individual honour.
Head coach Logan Stutz has another award to add to his trophy cabinet - the Ian Fowler Executive of the Year. With a seamless transition from the court to the bench this season, Stutz managed to shape Sudbury's inaugural squad into an exciting unit that caught the attention of all in the NBL Canada.
All eyes were on the most coveted award, Most Valuable Player, which this season was awarded to Sudbury's superstar guard Braylon Rayson.
Leading in four categories - point average, points scored, three-pointers and field goals - Rayson has been a leading MVP contender ever since the conversation started. His consistently high numbers have been a big factor in Sudbury's success this year and he has also set a league record for most three-pointers made in a single season, with 149.
The celebrations will have to be short, though, as the focus now is making it to the next round of the playoffs over the St. John's Edge.
