Joe Salerno wins Coach of the Year award

This year's NBL Canada Coach of the Year Award goes to Joe Salerno of the Moncton Magic.

This won’t come as a surprise to many - Salerno has been the man behind Moncton’s record-breaking season and has shaped them into the team to beat in 2018-19.

In his second year with the team, Salerno led the Magic to head the league – the first time that has been done with by a team from Moncton – with a 27-13 record, and setting a new franchise benchmark with only three losses at home all year.

Having also won in 2013 with the Summerside Storm, this is Salerno's second Coach of the Year award. This season he also won the Coach of the Month award on two separate occasions.

With the regular season now in the books, the focus of Salerno and the Magic now turn to capitalising their success in bringing the NBL Canada trophy home to Moncton. Their playoff run begins April 5th against the Saint John Riptide.
