NBLC Rooks: Island Storm Edition
The players making their professional debut in the NBL Canada.
Tyree White
6'4 from Brooklyn, New York
A graduate of the Science Skills Centre in his native Brooklyn, White went on to play two years for the Hostos Caimans before making the move to the NCAA Division 2 with the Queen's College Knights. In his first year for Queen's he led the team in assists, was forth in the East Coast Conference for field goal percentage and ninth for points per game. He also made the second-most triple-doubles in all of America in the season.
Ending his Knights tenure with 16.3 points on 57% field shooting, 8.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.2 steals, he averaged 12.4 points and 7.6 rebounds in 38 games in his pro debut season with the Island Storm.
Terrell Carter
6'10 Centre from Los Angeles
Newcomer of the Year at Redondo Union High School, as well as winning All-CIF and Bay League MVP honours, Carter joined the Fresno State Bulldogs in 2014, where he improved year-on-year. He shot over 50% from the field in his last three seasons and as a senior posted his best scoring record of 5.7 points per game.
Daniel Gordon
6'2 Guard from Scarborough, Ontario
The Canadian native's basketball journey began at Ajax High School, where he recieved the Player of the Year award. Spurred on by this, he joined the Fleming Knights in the Ontario College Athletic Association.
After averaging 29.6 points per game in his sophomore year with the Knights, he moved to St. John's, Newfoundland and joined the Memorial Sea-Hawks. Though seeing a reduction in playing time, he stepped up every time he took to the court, and finished his 2017-18 campaign with an average 18.9 points per game.
