NBLC Recap: March 18th & 19th

Two days and two big match-ups from teams looking to improve their playoff chances.

Terry Thomas led all at the Scotiabank Centre with 36 points for the Halifax Hurricanes, who had a double-digit half time lead over the Island Storm, which reached 14 points in the second half. Leading the Storm on offence, Tyree White (who had 30 points) and Guillaume Boucard (22 points, 13 rebounds) turned it all around and gave the team a late five-point lead - but it didn't last long.

The Storm tried to hold on to their advantage, but relentless offence from the Hurricanes saw them go back in front and see out the win, 117-110, where their bench players contributed 41 combined points.

The Windsor Express kept it tight against the Moncton Magic on their visit to the Avenir Centre, but led by Corey Allmond (29 points) and Billy White (28 points, 10 rebounds), the Magic responded by taking an eighteen-point lead just before half-time.

With 29 points each, Juan Pattillo and Chris Jones gave their all to try and turn Windsor's game around, but with the superior shooting show and dominating on the defensive glass, Moncton were in control of proceedings. Freddie McSwain had 18 points off the bench in the Magic’s 129-115 win, which was also the Windsor Express’s third loss in a row - dangerous as the season starts to wind down.
