NBLC Recap: February 11th
Two Atlantic Division teams injected Monday's single NBL Canada fixture with plenty of excitement and drama.
Sampson Carter led the Island Storm's offence and with the team contesting every loose ball, they led the Moncton Magic by ten points at half time. Their lead was bolstered by good word from Guillaume Boucard and Alex Campbell, who had 21 and 20 points respectively for the visitors.
In the fourth quarter, Corey Allmond, Billy White and Jason Calliste combined on offence - the only Magic players to score in the entire concluding period - and made it a one-point game after a fourteen point run. In the final two minutes of regulation, Allmond gave Moncton a two-point lead, which was followed by a layup from Boucard which sent the game into overtime.
After three lead changes early in the extra period, Moncton took a five-point lead and despite efforts from Boucard and Malik Story, the Storm could not overturn it. Winning 115-110, the Magic set a new season record for home wins with sixteen. Billy White led all at the Eastlink Centre with 27 points for the victors, while Allmond finished with 24 of his own and Denzell Taylor managed a double-double (11 points, 14 rebounds).
