NBLC Recap: February 10th
The NBL Canada was back with two very different Sunday night games.
In a high-scoring affair at the Centre 200, the Sudbury Five led the Cape Breton Highlanders by eighteen points in the first half. Contributing the most for the visitors were Jaylen Bland who had 34 points and Braylon Rayson with 31.
The Highlanders came out with renewed vigour in the second half, bringing the gap down to one ahead of the final quarter. Landon Atterberry had 14 points in the third quarter alone, and would go on to finish with 25. Sudbury went up by five, only for Cape Breton to take the advantage after ten unanswered points.
Jamal Reynolds had 28 points and 11 rebounds off the bench while Devin Sweetney led the victorious Highlanders with 32 as the team came-from-behind to win 138-133.
With a perfect first quarter shooting show from Malcolm Duvivier, the Halifax Hurricanes led the KW Titans 41-19 after ten minutes played. With the Titans unable to match the Hurricanes on offence, it became about damage limitation for the home side. Justin Strings was the stand-out for KW with 26 points and 12 rebounds, but it was all Halifax in this match-up.
Over 50% from all distances, 25 points each from Mike Poole and Jordan Washington, a double-double from Rhamel Brown and 64 points from their bench players, Halifax ran out to the big victory, 136-108 over the Titans.
