Know Your Team: Damon Lynn, Nigel Tygther and Denzel James

One thing the KW Titans have been able to rely on in their intermittent season is their rotation, full of players from varying backgrounds in the sport of basketball and all who step up when they take to the court.

Damon Lynn

5’11

Guard

From Hillsdale, New Jersey

Regarded as one of the top ten high school players in New Jersey, playing for Union Catholic Regional, Lynn was recruited to the NJIT Highlanders, for whom he played four years, starting in all but one game.

He became the only player in the Highlanders' history to score 1000 points in his sophomore year, and would go on to win Atlantic Sun conference honours as a junior and senior, as well as make two semi-final appearances at the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. He finished as NJIT's all-time highest scorer since the team joined NCAA Division 1, with final stats of 18.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals.

Turning professional in2017, Lynn signed for BC Siauliai in Lithuania, then joined Texas Legends in the NBA G League, reaching the first round of the playoffs with the team. The following season he signed with the KW Titans, and after 33 games played had 11.7 points to his name and is in the top ten in three-point shooting, making him one of the team's most successful imports in the season.

Nigel Tyghter

6'9

Forward

From Brampton, Ontario

Tyghter graduated from the CIS team the Windsor Lancers in 2010 and went on to spend a year with CB Vic in Spain. In 2011, Tyghter was competing in the North of the Border league when he was diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg, which forced him to put basketball on hold.

Six years later, he was medically cleared to compete again, and signed with the KW Titans ahead of the 2017-18 season. He went on to play 36 games and averaged 4.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in his comeback season, and

 

Denzel James

6’3

Forward

From Edmonton, Alberta

James ended his five years playing with the MacEwan Griffins in Edmonton as the team's all-time highest scorer, and would go on to become their first player to play professional basketball. Signing with the KW Titans, he went on to make 33 appearances for the team in his debut professional season.
