NBLC Recap: March 7th

Just the one game on this NBL Canada Thursday, but it was a big one, as two of the league's biggest rivals met at the Gardens in London.

Opening with eleven unanswered points, the London Lightning were buoyed to lead their visitors, the Halifax Hurricanes, by 24 points in the first half. Having come up short on a number of occasions early on, they found their rhythm in the third and started to reduce their deficit.

Mike Poole led the fight back on his way to 19 points, while Terry Thomas did plenty of damage off the bench, leading the team's offence with 22, and Rhamel Brown and Jordan Washington both recorded double-doubles

As the game started to wind down, Halifax made it a one-point game seven times, only for London to push the gap back out from the field on the next possession. After Garrett Williamson put the Lightning up by two with three seconds left, Terry Thomas drew a foul with one second on the clock and hit the first of his free-throws, but missed the other.

With Xavier Moon leading the team with 21 points, London come away from this dramatic blockbuster clash with the all-important win - their seventh in a row that moves them up to second in the Central Division.
