NBLC Recap: February 15th & 16th
The weekend had arrived and it was an all-Central Division affair in the NBL Canada.
Despite being short-handed with only eight players, the Windsor Express went fifteen points in front in the first half, taking advantage of some slack shooting from the St. John's Edge. The Express were without Juan Pattillo, but in his place saw a combined 45 points from Chris Jones and Tyrrel Tate.
St. John's started the fight back in the third, and in the forth went in front behind good all-around work on the offensive end. Diego Kapelan had the last of his 21 points, while Junior Cadougan and Desmond Lee both capped off double-doubles for the Edge, who held off the challenge on their place in the Central Division with a 97-90 win over Windsor.
On Saturday night, the London Lightning put up 74 first half points against the Sudbury Five's 39, and though Sudbury's shooting improved in the second half, London were able to stay the course and their 37-point lead proved too much to overcome.
Starter Braylon Rayson led Sudbury with 25 points, one of six on the team to reach the double-digit mark, while Anthony Gaines put up 25 in only 17 minutes of action for London, who also saw a double-double from Mo Bolden (14 points, 10 rebounds) as they pick up their fourth straight win by 124 points to 107.
