NBLC Recap: February 12th

The NBL Canada's division leaders - the St. John's Edge and the Moncton Magic - squared off in a battle for supremacy at the Avenier Centre.

With the better inside looks in the first half, the Magic got off to an early double-digit lead. The Edge were left playing catch-up, and helping them do so was Junior Cadougan, who finished with 32 points, and on the other end Obinna Oleka, who had 13 rebounds to go with his 14 points.

The Edge got to within three in the final period, but Moncton stayed on course thanks to good work from their starters Corey Allmond (15 points) and Billy White (12 points). Meanwhile, their bench put up 59 combine points in the game, with newcomer Trey Kell finishing with an outstanding 24 points and 12 rebounds in only his second outing - one that could see him promoted to starter before too long.

At the end both remained top of their respective divisions, but with not enough time for the Edge to mount a comeback, the Magic got the win by 109 points to 102.
