NBLC Rooks: KW Titans Edition
The players making their professional debut in the NBL Canada.
Justin Strings
6’7 Forward from Carson, California
A highly decorated player for Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California, whom he captained as a senior, Strings went on to play four years for the Sacramento State Hornets in the NCAA Division 2.
Starting in his sophomore year for the Hornets, he would go on to lead the team in scoring for his next two seasons and was made co-captain alongside Marcus Graves in his final one. He was named to the Big Sky conference second team as both a junior and senior.
Strings finished his Sacramento State career with averages of 13.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game and as one of the team's most successful players.
John Murry
6'3 Guard from Indianapolis, Indiana
At a young age, Murry moved from North Central High School in his native Indianapolis to the TAAG Academy in Tampa, where he averaged 26 points per game. He then moved on to the Owens Express in Toldeo, Ohio, for two years, where he led the team in scoring, rebounding and assists in his second.
His performance as a sophomore saw him recruited to the Austin Peay Governors in Clarksville, Tennessee, where he spent the remainder of his NCAA eligibility. In his first year he played in the Division 1 final tournament, where he scored 13 points and dished three assists in the Governors' 105-79 loss to Kentucky. As a senior, he averaged 17.0 points per game.
Murry signed his first professional contract with the Saint John Riptide in 2017 - despite leading the scoring for the Riptide in one of their pre-season games, he never made a regular season appearance for the team. His November 22nd appearance for the Titans against the Windsor Express was his competitive, professional debut.
