NBLC Recap: January 22nd
Another week of NBL Canada basketball gets underway early with an inter-divisional thriller at the WFCU Centre.
The Windsor Express had the early advantage behind another amazing performance from Juan Pattillo - he had 19 of his total 40 points in the first half.
All five of the KW Titans' starters scored in double digits, while also seeing 30 points off the bench from Joel Friesen and 16 more from Greg Morrow, going a long way to close the gap after Windsor took their first ten-point lead just after half-time.
Windsor then had to fight back after falling behind to the Titans down the stretch, Tyrrell Tate tied the scores with a three with two minutes left, and after the two exchanged baskets the scoreline was tied at the end of regulation.
Windsor took the early lead in overtime, but still finding scoring chances the Titans kept it a one-possession game. Close-range twos from Pattillo and Horace Wormely ended the pattern, giving the Express the lead they needed to see out victory by 138 points to 134.
With 24 bench points from Chris Jones, 23 from Tate and 10 points and 11 rebounds from Wormely, the Express extend their winning streak to six - and the Titans' losing skid to five - and see a continuation of their amazing change of form in the season.
