Storm trade Brad States to Edge for Boucard
The Island Storm are hoping that their latest transaction can turn around their disappointments of this season. In one of the biggest transactions of the season so far, they have sent Brad States to the St. John's Edge in return for Guillaume Boucard.
Boucard averaged 14.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as a starter for the Niagara River Lions last season, but in 2018-19 has seen his role reduced with the Edge. With less minutes than the season prior, he has only averaged 6.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in fifteen games for St. John's. The addition of Glen Davis to the Edge's roster only adds to Boucard's inactivity problems.
This trade could provide a platform for the NBLC sophomore to make full use of his skills and abilities, as well as try and turn around his new team's fortunes. The Storm currently sit at the bottom of the Atlantic Division and are currently on a ten-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, fan favourite of the Storm States now finds himself in his first NBL Canada team outside of Prince Edward Island. So far for the Storm this season he has averaged his best field goal shooting percentage (46%) as well as putting up 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Time will tell how States will perform in his new environment.
