NBLC Recap: December 26th

The NBL Canada's traditional Boxing Day slate was cut down to one game after the Riptide-Storm was called off, but there was enough drama and excitement in the Centre 200 for two basketball games.

The Moncton Magic opened the scoring with six points, worked well on the defensive boards and saw plenty of good looks in the paint from Corey Allmond and Billy White. This saw them lead by two points at the end of a closely-contested first half against the Cape Breton Highlanders.

Six points in a row from Nick Evans brought the Magic back up after going down by four early in the second half, but with 15 points and 5 rebounds in the final quarter, Bruce Massey lifted the Cape Breton Highlanders - as did 40 total points from their bench players. After 12 unanswered points down the stretch from the home team, the result was no longer in doubt.

Cape Breton remain the only team to defeat the Moncton Magic this season, and their 113-101 win here takes them up to second place in the Atlantic Division.
