NBLC Recap: December 20th

The latest chapter in the biggest NBL Canada rivalry was seen at the Budweiser Gardens on Thursday night.

With great shooting early on from Mo Bolden, and Marcus Capers following suit off the bench, the London Lightning were leading at the end of two quarters. Meanwhile their opponents, the Halifax Hurricanes, starting to catch fire towards the end of the first half, and when the game resumed their rampant offence completely turned the game around.

Good, consistent scoring from Halifax's Gabe Freeman, Joel Kindred and Jordan Washington off the bench saw the Hurricanes go into the lead from seven points down.

Drawing fouls and finding open looks, London were able to keep the scoreline tight. Freeman made some decisive late shots to keep the scoreline in Halifax's favour (he would finish with a game-leading 26 points) and the team boxed out London's offence well at the crucial final stage of the game to capture the win, 107-102, at the end of another heated match-up with their biggest rivals.

Bolden and Garrett Williamson had 26 and 20 points respectively for London, while Jordan Washington posted 19 points off the Hurricanes bench and Gabe Freeman finished with 11 rebounds to go with his 26 points.
