NBLC Recap: December 15th

The most exciting moments in a night of high drama in the NBL Canada.

After a close first half against the Sudbury Five, the London Lightning then took a ten-point lead in the third quarter, only for Sudbury to then re-take the lead later on. At this pivotal point in the game, Travis Releford had the biggest impact off for Sudbury, going on his way to record a team-high 24 points off the bench. Sudbury also saw double-doubles from Cory Dixon and Grandy Glaze, the latter not starting.

London went into a lead with a seven-point run late in the game, but not wanting victory to slip from their grasp, went looking for scoring opportunities from all distances, making it a one-point game with 12 seconds remaining. A final dunk from Kirk Williams sealed the final result.

London get the win by 120-117, in which six players reached double digits – most impressively of all Gaines with a game-high 25 points off the bench.

The KW Titans started out on top, but the Windsor Express hit back in the second, leaving the door open for a back-and-forth second half. At the end of which, Windsor came back from nine down to two, and a last-second basket from Juan Pattillo sent the game into overtime.

Ryan Anderson opened OT with six unanswered points for Windsor, which was the beginning of the end for the Titans, as they fell by an eventual score line of 122-114.

Akeem Ellis was the stand out for the KW Titans, with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Windsor, meanwhile, pick up their second win of the season. With 22 points, Pattillo was one of two Windsor players to score over 20, along with Horace Wormley who had a game-high 24, while Marcus Jones finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
