NBLC Recap: December 4th
The Centre 200 in Sydney was the setting for a Tuesday night NBL Canada match-up between two teams looking to catch a break.
21 points off the bench for Jamal Reynolds eclipsed all the starters for the Cape Breton Highlanders, who lead the St. John’s Edge by nine points early on. Not long after, though, it was the Edge for the rest of the way.
With 28 points from Carl English and double-doubles from Maurice Jones (19 points, 11 assists) and Keith Wright (16 points, 11 rebounds), St. John’s took control of the game and led by double digits for much of the second half. The Edge also out-shot the Highlanders from the field, dropped 14 three-pointers and were big on the defensive boards.
The Edge also saw good bench production from Diego Kapelan, who had 17 points, and Guillaume Boucard was two points shy of a double-double, finishing with eight points and eleven total rebounds.
St. John's get a much-needed win on the road by a margin of 109 points to 92 over the Cape Breton Highlanders. Both teams now have two wins and sit fourth place in their respective divisions.
