NBLC Recap: November 28th & 29th

It's all change in the NBL Canada, as teams went against the script across two nights.

Out-shot on the offensive end and unable to contain Juan Pattillo and Ryan Anderson on the other side, the Sudbury Five saw their unbeaten streak come to an end at the hands of the Windsor Express, despite the best efforts from Braylon Rayson, who had a game-high 25 points.

Sudbury lessened the damage after going down by 22 points in the fourth quarter, but Windsor were thoroughly in the driver's seat. Pattillo had 18 points, with Anderson scoring 14 and grabbing 12 rebounds for Windsor, who also saw 40 points from their bench, as they get their first win of the season, 103-91.

Flenard Whitfield began a dominant performance from the KW Titans, leading the Saint John Riptide by twelve in the first quarter. It was a good game for bench players, as Frank Bartley for the Riptide and Damon Lynn of the Titans had the highest individual scores for their respective teams (15 for Bartley, 17 for Lynn). The Riptide, though, were outclassed on both ends of the floor by the Titans, who saw their biggest lead of the game down the stretch, eventually finishing in front 107 to 84.

The following night, the Riptide and the London Lightning were tied after ten minutes, but London took control in the second quarter, going on to lead by ten at the half. Xavier Moon began his high-scoring outing which would see him on his way to a game-leading 25 points for the Lightning, who also saw 19 bench points from Marvin Phillips.

Saint John saw good numbers from their rookies: Chris Early had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Brent Arrington also managed a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) and Daniel Dingle scored 22 points off the bench. Out-shot in the field 37% to London's 53%, though, the Riptide's struggles continue. London win comfortably by a margin of 109 to 95.
