Richard Amardi's basketball career has taken him far and wide and seen him play at some of the sport's highest levels. One thing that is always the same, though, is his high-scoring performances.
After beginning his career with the Weatherford Coyotes in Texas (averaging 13.4 points and 9.7 rebounds) and two years with the Indian Hills Warriors (8.6 points, 5.2 rebounds), he made the move to the NCAA, spending his final year of eligibility with the Oregon Ducks.
In his sole season with the Ducks, he averaged 6.4 points per game, and was the team's second-best rebounder, third-best shot block and was fifth overall in steals in the 2013-14 season. Beating the BYU Cougars, Amardi also reached the third round of the 2014 Division 1 Championship, where the Ducks would lose to Wisconsin.
Turning pro the following season, Amardi first played for the Orangeville A’s, in a debut season where he would average 12.3 points and 4.7 rebounds a game. After a second season with the A’s, he joined the Niagara River Lions, achieving career-best season averages of 12.8 points and 6.3 total rebounds, numbers which saw him named to the All-Canadian team.
Amardi began the 2017-18 season with the Raptors 905 in the NBA G-League, but left after 12 games and spent the rest of the season with Spisska Nova Ves in Slovakia.
Now in his fifth year pro, he continues to improve, and will do so in his third NBL Canada team. Originally agreeing to a deal with London, he will instead suit up for the Windsor Express in the eighth NBLC season.
