Know Your Team: Mike Poole
Halifax Hurricanes
6’5
Guard
From Rosedale, New York
Playing only his third season as a professional, Mike Poole has become a star for the Halifax Hurricanes, but that's not by accident - his results and performances so far speak for themselves.
After playing three years with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, he went on to become the starting shooting guard for the Iona Gaels. With Iona he managed NCAA career-best averages of 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
After playing for Team Fancy in The Basketball Tournament, Poole joined the Halifax Hurricanes in 2016. Starting in half of the games that season, he averaged 10.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, and was named to the all-rookie team.
Though he only started in three games for Halifax the following season, he had an even better season - averaging 12.1 points, he was the sixteenth-best three-point shooter across the whole league, as well as finishing in the top fifteen for rebounds and field goals shooting, and was second overall in steals.
The best thing about Mike Poole is that his career is still young, and it will be exciting to see if his upward trend continues.
