Know Your Team: Guillaume Boucard
St. John's Edge
6’6
Forward
From Montreal, Quebec
Having shown what he can do in a stand-out season in Canada, it's no wonder why so many NBLC teams were lining up to secure Guillaume Boucard.
Before turning professional, Boucard spent five years playing for the Carleton Ravens. In his final year he was the team’s leading scorer, averaging 14.6 points per game, as well as shooting 54% from field, 56% from three-point territory and was the joint-top shot blocker in all of Ontario University Athletics in the 2014-15 season.
He started playing professionally with Vosges in France, before returning home and joining the Niagara River Lions. He played in 43 games and averaged 14.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He was the NBL Canada's seventh-overall rebounder in the 2017-18 season, and also in the top ten for steals and blocks.
With the departure of the River Lions from the league, an arms race began amongst NBLC teams to secure one of the league's most talented newcomers - a fight eventually won by the St. John's Edge. His talents on both ends of the court will no doubt serve him well in his new home in Newfoundland.
