Sudbury Five

6’7

Forward

From North York, Ontario

Last season, Grandy Glaze returned to his homeland and lifted the newly founded St. John's Edge and captured the imagination of fans all over NBL Canada.

Glaze played for four schools, but had his best results at St. John's Prep in Buckeystown, Maryland. He averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds per game, won the league championship, was tournament MVP of the Mid-Atlantic Invitational and was named Player of the Year by The Gazette.

He went on to played three years with Saint Louis Billikens, each season reaching the third round of the NCAA Division 1 championships. He played his final NCAA season with the Grand Canyon Antelopes, averaging 13.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game and earned district and conference honours.

In 2016, he was selected 51st overall in the NBA D-League Draft by the Delaware 87ers, but instead went to make his professional debut in Mexico for Caballeros de Culiacan. He then went on to play for Correcaminos, with whom he led the league in rebounds.

Glaze then made the move to the NBL Canada, signing for the St. John's Edge in 2017. He made an immediate statement, scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds in his debut NBLC game. He was one of the biggest newcomers of the 2017/18 season, finishing second overall in the field goal percentage, and a big factor in the Edge's success.

Glaze's pedigree includes time spent representing the Canadian national team, having played for Canada at the 2017 AmeriCup and in qualifying for the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

In this year's off-season Glaze was acquired by the Windsor Express, who later traded him to the Sudbury Five for Juan Pattillo. This gives him a big opportunity to build on his debut NBL Canada performance and become one of the first stars of the league's new franchise.
