One of the old guards of NBL Canada is back and picking up right where he left off.

Flenard Whitfield first turned heads as a key player with the Western Michigan Broncos. He had the best results in junior year, starting in 32 of 33 games, averaging 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and shooting 50% from the field. The same year he was also named to the conference team.

He began his professional basketball career in Australia, then moved on to the NBL Canada, playing with A’s in both Brampton and Orangeville for three seasons. He was part of the A's team that reached their best finish when they reached the 2015 Central Division finals.

2016/17 proved to be a busy season for Whitfield: he first signed for Skallagrímur in Iceland, starting in every game and averaging 29.3 points and 9.5 rebounds. His season in Scandinavia completed, he then joined the all-new NBL Canada team, the KW Titans. He showed no signs of fatigue or let-up, averaging 18.9 points per game, which saw him named to the All-NBLC third team.

He had another successful season in 2017/18, playing in Finland for Kauhajoen Karhu. Averaging 11.9 points per game, he helped Kauhajoen win the league championship, the first in the team's history.

Now he's back with the KW Titans, and it's not just their fans who are waiting in expectation to see him putting up big numbers once again.
