1xNBLC Champion

2xAll-NBLC Team

A veteran of three NBL Canada seasons, and having played top-level basketball from an early age, Moncton Magic's latest acquisition Billy White is one of the league's most dependable shooters.

After graduating from Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nevada, he became the starting power forward of the San Diego State Aztecs, averaging 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game across four years.

In his last two seasons with the Aztecs, he was a team mate of NBA star Kawhi Leonard and was named to the Mountain West all-conference team. Leonard isn't the only notable future basketball professional White has played with, as he played in the 2011 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament alongside Jimmy Butler, John Holland of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Euroleague star Brad Wanamaker, currently with the Boston Celtics.

White began playing professionally with the Iowa Energy in the NBA D-League in 2010, and received a contract with the Miami Heat, but never played. He then moved on to Greece, playing for Rethymno Cretan Kings, and then Fuerza Regia and Guyamaos in Mexico.

He first played in NBL Canada in 2015, joining the Halifax Hurricanes, he went on to win the title in his debut NBLC season. After a short spell in Cyprus with Apollon, he returned to the Hurricanes and played in all but one game across two seasons. In 2017-18, he managed a career-best end-of-season average of 18.7 points per game.

Having established himself with the Hurricanes, the 2018-19 season will see him take his talents to new ground - in one of this off-season's biggest transactions, White was traded to the Moncton Magic.
