2018 X Games Minneapolis: 12 of the Best
It's back. The highlight of any urban sports fan's summer, the X Games were back in Minnesota to showcase the very best in BMX, skateboard and motocross action.
There were plenty of highlight moments across the four days of competition, but here are some of the very best moments from the 2018 Summer X Games:
BMX Vert
Showing great control of the bike, Jamie Bestwick pulled off plenty of amazing tricks in his BMX Vert final run
However, making big-air whips look easy and seemingly defying gravity, Vince Byron defended his vert gold medal this year in Minneapolis.
BMX Park Best Trick
Gold in the best trick category went to Alex Haim, for his 1080 tail whip - part of which was made in the air, the rest after landing on a wall obstacle.
BMX Big Air
A really strong field in this year's big air competition saw Vince Byron only able to make bronze, while Morgan Wade started off with a no-hander 720 spin, and finished with a one-handed double tail whip.
James Foster didn't get the most air, but he still managed to land an incredible quadruple tail whip - and even he couldn't believe it.
Moto X Freestyle
After slipping up in run one, Tom Pages had one minute and fifteen seconds to earn himself X Games success. He would get it done with a no-handed double backflip and his own signature bike flip.
Skateboard Street
Defending gold medalist Aori Nishimura put together a confident and highly techinical run in the women's street final. Not missing a beat, she looked a shoo-in for gold again in 2018
Rival Mariah Duran had not looked the most impressive in the street field. Falling a lot in her early runs she looked to be over-reaching, but landing some pretty impressive flips in her second run would be enough to put her ahead of Nishimura for gold.
BMX Dirt
Possibly the best moment of the entire event, Australian Brandon Loupos stood out from everyone else in the dirt park. Landing one amazing trick after another, there was no question in anyone's mind who was the winner here.
Skateboard Big Air
Clay Kreiner and Mitchie Brusco wowed the crowds with their best big air tricks.
Kreiner looked impressive with a mute five that had to be seen in slow motiotn to be truly appreciated-
But Brusco set himself apart from the field by landing a 1080.
BMX Park
Logan Martin was a man on a mission in the park - focused on pulling off as many tricks in the time limit, which he did spectacularly and without a moment's hesitation.
With great atmosphere and a great standard across the board, the 2018 X Games were a great occasion for athletes and fans alike.
